Going in Blind
I am planning an extended trip to South America for about Feb next year. I honestly do not know where to start planning, and where to go. I will be on a tight budget, and I hope to go for about 5-6 months. I am completely open to any suggestions, and there are only a few "definates" that I would like to do, such as; Argentina, Peru and Brazil. Most importantly, I am looking to do a month plus trek into the Pantanal or Amazon, and have not been successful in any searches on the web. People have told me that you just arrive there and find some locals to take you on these expeditions, but I don't know how safe that is. Any and all advise would be much appreciated, as I am completely blind on the matter..
