I need urgent advice from anyone who is Indian and knows Mumbai well. My girlfriend has had her bag stolen and has offered to return the bag if she pays 10? for it. I think it is a crazy idea but I know what she is like, she will do it no matter what I say. They said for her to meet them tomorrow, and her friend (male) said that it is normal for India.
